When thinking of interior design, we frequently think of furnishings, window treatments, wall and floor coverings and color schemes, while completely ignoring the ceiling. At H&K Goodware Company we regard every ceiling as a huge blank canvas, offering anyone a chance to express their own sense of style while adding interest and value to their home. Although commonly ignored in new construction even a simple ceiling medallion suggests a touch of elegance and shows attention to detail. With a full line of round polyurethane ceiling medallions ranging from 6 inches to 60 inches in diameter and oval and diamond shapes to 72 inches. From simple molding rings, that duplicate the look of run-in-place plaster, to elaborately decorated Victorian styles we have something for every taste, every budget and every room in the house. For something really over the top check out our Elegant Series medallions with dimensions to 108 inches and designs reminiscent of the finest ceilings of the European Renaissance period.
We like to think outside of the box, and when we came across this image of ornate ceiling medallions serving as wall art, we were instantly intrigued by the statement.
Because the pieces are lightweight and inexpensive, a cluster of them on a wall is a great way to add texture to a large blank space without spending a fortune. Each medallion in the above example is different, so to unite the styles happening here, coordinating shades of pale yellow were applied to the plastic surfaces. The wall color provides some contrast, but drastically different paints could be chosen for a room that needs more punch. If you find a medallion with a hole in the center, which is how many of them come, you could easily insert a piece of mirror for an even more glamorous arrangement.
The photo Album below shows a good way about how to better use the Polyurethane Ceiling Medallion:
H&K Goodware Company’s polyurethane ceiling medallions are hand-crafted in Port Townsend, WA, from exquisitely detailed molds. We use “pottery plaster”, reinforced with hemp fiber. This makes the decorative medallion 5 times stronger, yet with a smooth parian finish like fine figurines. You don’t need 12′ ceilings to enjoy the graceful transition with a ceiling medallion from your ceiling to light fixture. Leave naturally white, or to add color, seal or prime the surface first.
