How to Cut Crown Molding Corners

Before cutting moldings some questions may come to your mind,which exactly direction should cut the molding? Which way should the saw go? Which side of the blade should put the molding on? For some reason maybe your brain doesn’t visualize it very well, especially when having to mentally toggle between cutting inside corners and outside corners since many room has both corners.

Firstly,let’s see how to place the molding on the miter saw when cutting into the four corners.

1.Inside Corner-Left Piece 
When you are at your miter saw have the long part of the molding extend out to the left. Move the saw angle to your right to the 45° mark for a 90° corner or your calculated angle for an angled corner. Make sure the top of the molding is on the saw deck and the bottom is facing you. Hold the molding at the correct angle and make your cut.

2.Inside Corner-Right Piece
When you are at your miter saw have the long part of the molding extend out to the right. Move the saw angle to your left to the 45° mark for a 90° corner or your calculated angle for an angled corner. Make sure the top of the molding is on the saw deck and the bottom is facing you. 3.Outside Corner-Left Piece

4.Outside Corner-Right Piece

Move the saw angle to your right to the 45° mark for a 90° corner or your calculated angle for an angled corner. Make sure the top of the molding is on the saw deck and the bottom is facing you. Hold the molding at the correct angle and make your cut.
