You need to understand the features of PU moulding glues before installation. In simple terms, glue is the medium that can bond two materials. In water-soluble adhesives, the amount of glue dese not influence the viscosity. However, the ingredient of glue are plasticizer and tackifier will affect the viscosity depends on the ratio of them. In general, the higher temperature, the lower viscosity. On the other hand, the lower temperature, the higher viscosity.
PU moulding glues
Goodware recommends you use these two PU moulding glues for installation.
- Titebond: Also called Liquid nail. It is a highly adhesive and multi-function glue. It is the main moulding glue for connecting PU moulding and wall, especially for cement wall which can’t use the nails.
- Size of glue nozzle: The nozzle is too small, the glue will be too less. The nozzle is too big, it will waste the glue. Choose a suitable glue nozzle.
- Glue gun: Use the glue gun and add a nozzle on the glue tube. Maintain 45 ° to squeeze out the glue. Make sure the glue contact with the PU moulding
- Spread glue: When you spread the glue, don’t make it become the dots. It needs to be a straight glue line. The glue line can connect the PU moulding and wall tightly. It is also can prevent the cracks which are caused by expansion and contraction.
- White glue: Also called PVAc (polyvinyl acetate). It is currently the most widely used moulding glue. It is a water-based and eco-friendly glue, solidity fast at room temperature, and high adhesion. Carpentry usually uses it for decoration and boards. You can add some white glue into the putty powder for becoming the high strength filler. In addition, when you squeeze the glue, the width does not exceed 5mm.
